But there's more to enjoying live Blues than just the intellectual rewards... there's the spiritual side as well, and that's where The Blues Ambassadors come in. They'll happily serve as your personal soul pilots, guiding you through the nuance and mystique that we call The Blues. With any luck you won't lose your luggage.
Come on out and worship with us some night soon. And bring beer money.
The Immortal Blues Ambassadors are:
Deborah Stafford; Vocals extraordinaireDeborah Stafford is more than a singer; she' s an electrifying entertainer. Fluent in a host of musical styles, from jazz to torch to R&B, Deborah is a true pro and never, ever gives less than 100% in a performance. Deborah stays busy, working with several bands along the front range... but, of course, the BA's is the pick of the litter.
Dr. Jim Seely; GuitarIn spite of his Midwest musical upbringing on polkas and Souza marches, Dr. Jim has been playing the Blues and Rock 'n Roll for over 30 years. His most recent band was "Dr. Doctor", which rocked the front range (mostly in obscurity) for nearly twelve years...finally running out of steam in late 2008. The good doctor chews through the fretboard like a beaver on diet pills.
Kevin Douglas; Drums and vocalsKevin Douglas is the heart and soul of the "Badassador's" groove. And, as if his steady hand on the rhythm helm weren't enough, Kevin's whacked sense of humor keeps the band ROTFLOAO on stage. Seriously. Kevin excels at keeping our chops in context, reminding us that "dynamics" does not mean playing as loud as you can. Mr Douglas has been keeping bands in line for over twenty years.
Jerry Deall; Blues harpAt various times, Jerry Deall has shared the stage with dozens of local and national blues greats, including Bob Margolin, Ron Thompson, Lazy Lester, the Mary Russell Band, Al Chesis, Jack Hadley, and Tempa Singer. Jerry knows the Colorado blues scene inside and out, and keeps the Blues Ambassadors plugged in, both as cultural touchstone and salvager of all things Craigslist.
Dave Underwood; BassDave Underwood brings a monster bottom end to the Blues Ambassadors. He also plays bass. Dave played with the proto-punk No Exit Blues Band in the eighties as a rhythm guitarist, switching later to bass with the Eighty-Eights. After a long hiatus as a father and graphic designer, he happily returns to the scene with the BA's.
